The Astor County Championship Final Bisley July 2013

Nottinghamshire RA was represented by Langar Rifle Club and the final turned out to be a very close contest with the first seven places being separated by only five points and the top three teams by one point.

After 300 yards, the three leading teams were on 208 ex 210 with five following closely on 207. At 500 yards, two of the three leaders made 208 again; but of the five 207s, two scored 209 and one made a possible of 210 with 28 v-bulls. It was neck and neck into the 600 yard shoot; where the leaders from 500 yards scored either 208 or 209. At the final tally the competition was won on v-bulls by Old Epsomians with 625.81 followed by OGRE with 625.76 and in third place Langar RC with 624.77. It was then noticed that the OGRE scores did not add up correctly and there was a recount which in fact did not alter the team total and the places remained as they were with Langar RC winning bronze medals.
