Here we present a selection of reports on club competitions taken from the Nottingham Evening Post during 1908. Some were organised by the individual clubs and others through the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Miniature Rifle Leagues.

BOOTS ATHLETIC.

The members of the above have just completed a competition for the N.R.A. "Skilled Shots" and "Riflemen's" certificates. Conditions – three series of ten shots at 25 yards on decimal targets; highest possible score 300. The following are the winners of the certificates:–

In addition to the matches between clubs, there were competitions running between club members for individual cups.

MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.

MAPPERLEY PRESIDENT'S CUP.

The second stage of the shooting for the president's cup and annual prizes was completed on Saturday, the conditions being 15 shots and one sighter at 50 yards. A mist overhung the range, becoming worse later in the afternoon, and rendered good shooting difficult. The first eight qualify for third and final stage (10 shots and two sighters at 100 yards), which will be shot on Saturday, October 31st. Scores:–

The members of the Carrington and District Club have been busy with competitions. The result of the shoot for Mr. W. Page's challenge cup (10 shots from scratch on decimal targets) was:–

SNEINTON A v. MUNICIPAL OFFICERS A.

A friendly match between the Municipal Officers and Sneinton was fired on the latter club's new range in George-street last evening. The visitors, who were strongly represented, won easily. Ten shot, eight scores counting. Details:–
